Spent a day here after collapsing in pain doctors and staff were great and the ambulance staff were brilliant cant remember much in the hotel room but thanks for the first class treatment
Wow where do I start, my sister after falling on her neck during a PE demonstration with her students was sent to ormskirk minor injuries they immediately put her in a neck brace and on her back on a bed waiting for an ambulance, 6 hours later it arrived (ormskirk hospital is another story) And transferred to southport. Waited in the corridor to be seen, I am aware as a nurse myself that this is the current NHS situation, an hour later we were transferred to a cubicle, an hour later a nurse came in who was unprofessional to say the least, asked ridiculous questions in an inappropriate manner, said the doctor hadn't prescribed pain relief so she couldn't have any, great start, my sister hadn't been offered a drink or pain relief at ormskirk so that was 6 hours without food drink or pain relief bear in mind she was a neck injury, nurse went out and said wait for the dr, waited another hour for the doctor who suggested CT scan, waited another hour after that (I pushed for us to be seen as to be honest they weren't rushed off their feet and was sat laughing around) went down and my sister told me the dr had said she was fine, no fractures thankfully, so I went out again as now it was 9 hours lying on her back with no pain relief, a lovely agency nurse came and gave her pain relief 9 HOURS later, by 2am we were fed up to say the least my sister got up took the neck brace off and we said we were going home, the nurse panicked and went and got the dr came back and made a joke that he would be a couple of minutes maybe half an hour, we didn't find it funny at this point, dr came back half hour later said fine go home, no suggested pain relief, no follow up plan, nothing, I seriously questioned if any of these staff were even qualified, shocking service and would without a doubt refuse to be taken to this hospital if the situation does so arise
