Formby Beach is a great place to get outdoors. On both nice and miserable days the place will give you a smile. It may be the squirrels, the bite from chilly wind or the sun baking down... In any case it is a break from the hustle and bustle.The facilities are also top notch, the internal road system, the toilets, a parking facilities.As always, if you found this review useful please remember to like it. Used to train with the Army nearby - fun times running along the beach. Now go here frequently with my family. Look out for the red squirrels!
Although I only visited the beach, It was one of the best beaches i've visited. It's not for the sand, or the popularity, its one of the best beaches because of the views. I took the best pictures I took in my life on this beach, it looked amazing (you can see them, uploaded to national trust). I would definitely visit again, just to watch the sunset. A must visit beach if you're in the area!
I went here for a visit one evening whilst studying in Liverpool. It was a short 30/40 minute drive from the city centre. On arriving there is a convenient car park and path down to the beach. The forest walk through to the beach is beautiful. The beach was huge, empty and stunning. We went for a swim and the water was crystal clear. Only problem was I couldnt find an ice cream which is a must for a trip to the beach.I will definitely be back. Would be a stunning setting for a bbq on the sand dunes.
